Kevin Stratton
CEO
Bio
Kevin Stratton is the CEO and Co-Founder of ABCover, bringing over 30 years of experience in the global (re)insurance marketplace. His career highlights include building two successful start-ups—one at Lloyd’s of London and another in Bermuda for a boutique New York investment bank—and holding executive leadership roles at both Aon and Willis Towers Watson. Kevin has a vast network of valuable insurance friends and contacts in key positions in London, Bermuda, and America in key positions of authority and influence.
Kevin is known for his entrepreneurial approach, fostering strong client relationships, and delivering innovative (re)insurance solutions with integrity. Since 2006, he has specialized in staff absence insurance, particularly in creating risk transfer solutions for the education sector including captives and mutuals. His current focus is to help to “make a difference in US education.”
Paul McCulloch
President
Bio
With over 35 years of experience in finance, insurance, and technology, Paul McCulloch is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader. He is the President and Co-Founder of ABCover, and during his career has created and led both insurance and fintech companies that were profitable and produced effective business solutions.
His abilities include management, insurance underwriting, business development, regulatory compliance, and technology innovation. Paul has successfully created and scaled insurance programs, including offerings backed by Lloyd’s of London. His ability to define market needs, design practical solutions, and build strong teams has made him a success in the industry.
Drawing inspiration from his family’s ties to education, he is thrilled to be working with his friend Kevin Stratton as they lead ABCover, an initiative aimed at addressing challenges in K-12 school districts. Paul’s focus on problem-solving, creating strong relationships, and building successful business teams are perfectly suited for working with his partners as they grow.
Tony Soto

As a strategic risk advisor and President of ABCover’s Student Accident Division, Tony brings nearly three decades of applied financial, operational, and risk management insight to every decision point. His core principles are grounded in removing distraction, isolating what drives results, and applying experience to improve execution.
Tony is known first and foremost for decisive, immediate response that never goes quiet when it matters most. That standard is reflected in his craft of building student accident and staff absence insurance solutions that turn disruptive events into manageable outcomes. His strategic partnerships with industry experts extend that work, strengthening credibility and driving sustained client success.
L. Barrington Allen
Director of Client Development
Bio
Barrington Allen is a proven sales leader with success in telecommunications, banking, and pharmaceuticals. Known for exceeding sales targets, he has earned multiple awards and held key roles at Cellular One (now Verizon), First Union Bank, and Schering-Plough (now Merck & Co.). At First Union Bank, Allen worked on Music Row as a Financial Consultant, offering private banking expertise to entertainment professionals.
Allen is also a published author, inspired by his mother, a retired English teacher with 30 years of service. Her influence shaped his dedication to meaningful client relationships and education-focused partnerships, aligning with ABCover’s mission.
Lang Scott
Manager of Operations
Bio
Lang’s career spans entertainment, technology, and business leadership, blending artistic excellence with strategic vision. A two-time Grammy winner, he first earned acclaim as a recording artist for MCA Records, and then guitarist and vocalist for Reba McEntire.
In 2001, he transitioned to business, spearheading a web development team in building over 1,000 financial institution websites at Goldleaf Technologies. Later, as co-founder and President of MCN Interactive, he led innovative web design and e-commerce projects for elite entertainers and corporations for 17 years. Lang’s career reflects a rare mix of creativity, technical expertise, and business acumen, positioning him as a standout leader and valuable professional asset.
Dr. Kimberley Markus

Bio
Dr. Kimberley Markus, former New Jersey Commissioner of Education and retired educator of 30 years.
Kimberley is known for her work advocating for students and serving the educators, parents, and community members supporting them. She believes the student voice must be at the forefront of every conversation in order for students to grow academically, emotionally, and physically to reach their maximum potential. Throughout her career, Kimberley has always maintained a focus on the importance of the cycle of teaching and learning and its impact on improved outcomes for students. She continues to place an emphasis on building a strong climate and culture as a means of providing a solid foundation for sustainable progress and making a difference in children’s lives.
Kimberley has been recognized with many awards including: the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Arts Education, EdTech Hero Award, Boyer Outstanding Educator Award, and the College of New Jersey Advocacy Award. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Gordon College, a Master of Arts in Education Leadership, and her doctorate from Saint Peter’s University.
Kimberley is the mother of two sons and enjoys playing board games and reading in her free time. She is a strong believer in the role of the arts in brain development and she plays the flute, bass, and sings.
Dr. Donna Wright

Bio
Dr. Wright has dedicated over 40 years to education, serving in roles ranging from classroom teacher to superintendent. Before being appointed Superintendent of Wilson County Schools in 2014, she served as Deputy Superintendent in both Williamson and Knox County Schools. She holds a Doctorate in Leadership Studies from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and has contributed to the field as a published author, national speaker, and adjunct professor.
Throughout her career, Dr. Wright has received numerous honors, including the Women of Achievement Award, the Mt. Juliet Chamber’s “Wilsonian of the Year” (2017), and was named “Superintendent of the Year” by both the Professional Educators of Tennessee (2016) and the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (2020).
Under her leadership, Wilson County Schools gained recognition from the Center for Digital Education and the National School Board Association for its innovative use of technology. The district also earned Exemplary District Status for 2018–2019, with over half its schools named Reward Schools. Despite challenges such as a tornado and the COVID-19 pandemic, the district thrived, growing over 60% in seven years. Though now retired, Dr. Wright continues to support educators and school districts across the country.
Dr. Jeff Collum

Bio
Dr. Jeff Collum has served as a professional educator in both Texas and Arkansas for the past 28 years. During that time, he served in roles such as a teacher, coach, trainer, speaker, Principal, Executive Director, and Superintendent of schools. He has almost 14 years of superintendent experience alone in Texas and Arkansas combined.
Dr. Collum has been involved in several successful initiatives during his career. He has been associated with passing and implementing over $100,000,000 dollars in bond facility projects in both states collectively. He has successfully overseen multiple technology 1:1 projects leading to high student participation and positive academic student outcomes.
He has helped expand classroom learning opportunities in the PK-12 grade levels. He was the key developer for the state of Arkansas’ first early childhood “Executive functioning” brain development Lab school for Pre-K students. The program still currently serves approximately 300 students ages 3-4. The program was expanded to over 25 additional school districts through this implementation and seeing great success.
He was named administrator of the year in both Texas and Arkansas. Once in 2009 at Tyler ISD for his work in a “Turn around” Campus. And once in Arkansas for his work in school safety and security. Most recently he was nominated as one of the state of Arkansas’ “Superintendent of the year” in 2023.
He is passionate about serving students and staff and is now excited about serving as a national consultant for school districts, business corporations, and other leadership organizations. He is married to his beautiful wife Cara Collum and together they have three amazing sons: Caleb, Elijah, and Causey Collum. Together they love God, sports, the outdoors, and good cookout!
